GENERAL INFORMATION

The 28th Session of the Codex Committee on Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification Systems (CCFICS28) will be held in Perth, Australia from 12 to 17 October 2026. Remote participation (verbal interventions via Zoom) will be possible for all plenary sessions as well as the Physical Working Group (PWG) that will take place on 11 October 2026. Members may wish to plan to have at least one in-person delegate attend the session in order to guarantee their participation in potential in-session working groups, for which remote participation will not be possible. Sessions will take place from Monday 12 to Thursday 15 October 2026, and the adoption of the Report will take place on Saturday 17 October 2026. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, French and Spanish during the plenary sessions and report adoption. WORKING DOCUMENTS

Documents for consideration by CCICS28 will be published in English, French and Spanish on this page as soon as they become available. CRDs are published in the original language but may be translated. No printed copies of working documents, including the draft report, will be made available for the plenary session. Remote participation, including verbal interventions via Zoom, will be available for all plenary sessions any physical working group meetings. However, to ensure you can fully participate in all events and meetings throughout the week, physical attendance by at least one delegation member will be necessary. Codex Members and Observers wishing to participate remotely must register through the Codex Online Registration System (ORS) on the Codex website. Webcast

Registration through the ORS is therefore not required for those wishing only to follow the webcast. The following intersessional working groups were held in 2025 and 2026:

1. Emerging Global Issues
   The Virtual Intersessional Workshop on CCFICS Emerging Global Issues has been held on Monday 22 June 2026, time 12:00 - 13:30 CEST. The tentative programme is available here as well as Comments in reply to CL 2024/85-FICS - here.


2. Guidance on the standardization of the representation of sanitary requirements
   The Chair and Co-chairs of the CCFICS electronic working group (EWG) on Guidance on the standardization of the representation of sanitary requirements presented a webinar on this work. The webinar has been conducted in English, and will facilitate consideration and discussion of this work at CCFICS28. The webinar was held on Tuesday 9 June 2026, time 14:00 - 15:00 CEST. 3. Guidelines on the prevention and control of food fraud, Thursday 21 May 2026.
   The Intersessional Virtual Working Group (VWG) on the draft guidelines on the prevention and control of food fraud has taken place on Thursday 21 May 2026, Time 14:00 CEST. The VWG has worked to address some of the outstanding issues in the draft guidelines - particularly regarding animal feed. 4. Establishment listing guidance and Consolidation of Codex guidelines related to equivalence, 17-19th March 2026 in Oslo, Norway (see here)


5. Revision of the Principles for Traceability/Product Tracing as a Tool Within a Food Inspection and Certification System (CXG 60-2006), 13 June 2025, Vienna, Austria
